Rally Point
|
Welcome to Rally Point of Calvary Chapel Raleigh. We meet every other week at 10 AM on Sunday mornings. What is a Rally Point? A rally point is a predetermined location where people can come together. In land navigation it is used as a tool should someone get lost, or separated from a group. In an infantry unit in the military it can be used as a place to prepare, organize, rest, and rehearse for an upcoming mission. If during a mission they should get attacked and cannot defeat the enemy they return to the last known rally point to recover, treat the wounded and reorganize. What is the purpose of Rally Point Youth Group? It is our belief that the youth of today are on the front lines of a spiritual battle. Everyday they go off to school is a potentially dangerous situation. School shootings are common occurrence as of late, drug use seems to be of the norm, in a study conducted in 2005, 52 percent of teens say they have sexually active friends. Our youth are bombarded with the idea of creating “image”, how to dress, what to listen to, what is socially acceptable to their peers. Unfortunately, trying to be socially accepted has led to a lot of heart ache, addiction, and pain. The purpose of Rally Point Youth Group is to provide an environment where teens can find hope in a relationship with Jesus Christ; where Jesus becomes the Rally Point in a lost and broken generation seeking truth and relevance. What’s Rally Point’s Vision? Our vision is three fold: First, to provide an environment that the youth can worship in an intimate setting, and establish and develop a relationship with the only True Rally Point, Jesus Christ. Jesus said in Matthew 11:28 - 30
Here we see Jesus establish himself as our Rally Point, and from this passage of scripture we received our vision to provide a place for the youth to have an opportunity to find “rest for their souls”. Second, to provide an environment where the youth can grow in relationship with each other through the life experiences they face on a day-to-day basis. Growing up in youth ministries God always seemed to pair up people with completely different cultural backgrounds where people would wonder, “What are they doing together!” It led to the great testimony of Love that comes from a relationship with Jesus Christ. Finally our third purpose is found in Matthew 28:19,
We have the realization that time is something we don’t truly know if we have, and bearing that in mind there is a lot of people that don’t have the assurance of forgiveness through our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. As the youth that attend Rally Point start applying the first two purposes in their lives, it is our desire that they in turn reach out to a lost and dying world. How Do You Get Involved? |
